The new hot hatch Abarth 500e was launched offering a range of 155 miles or nearly 250 km and a power of 152 bhp. The Abarth 500e, which will be marketed in 2023, will compete with retro-style electric hot hatches such as the Alpine R5 and MINI. The Abarth 500e is the first electric car in history and builds on the regular 500 EV by adding a few key features to give it a sportier feel. Most notably a boost to the front-mounted electric motor, which produces 152 bhp (up from the Fiat's 117 bhp) and 235Nm of torque, for a 0-62 mile/h time of 7 seconds. The new model has less power than its 695 internal combustion engine stablemate which produces 177 bhp and 250Nm of torque. Then, it can reach a time of 0-62 miles/hour in 6.7 seconds.

The Abarth 500e showed it could pass the test track faster due to its increased width, longer wheelbase and instant EV of torque. The Abarth 500e also features a new sound generator and amplifier, programmed from early samples of the 695 petrol exhaust records, to help deliver a more intense experience. Exterior styling changes to the Abarth include a more aggressive front bumper, side skirts and rear diffuser, along with sportier 18-inch alloy wheels. There is also a large 'Abarth' lettering on the front and on the trunk lid and Abarth stickers on the sides. The convertible gets an integrated spoiler on the cloth roof, while the hatchback features a rear privacy glass.

Every Abarth 500e also has a recently revised version of the 'scorpion' logo. The interior of the Abarth 500e sports a three-spoke sports steering wheel, sport seats, leather seats with Alcantara trim and bright stitching. There's also a panoramic roof, an upgraded sound system, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, a standard 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment setup to show more detailed driving data. Firstly, the Turismo is aimed at everyday driving, with reduced power and torque (132bhp and 230Nm) to provide a smoother driving experience.

Scorpion Street mode unlocks the powertrain's full potential while maximizing brake energy recovery for urban environments with frequent stops. Meanwhile, the Scorpion Track dials back the regen brakes to focus purely on performance. Abarth says single-pedal riding is possible in the Turismo and Scorpion Street settings. Fiat-Abarth head Olivier Francois said his team was already trying to improve the performance and noise of the Abarth 500e. "Everyone has worked to make this car faster, sportier and more reliable,"
